Abstract : We are interested by the scattering of a transient electromagnetic wave by a bounded homogeneous dielectric obstacle. We use the retarded potential method to solve this transmission problem. We use Laplace-Fourier transform to analyse the problem and propose a symmetric coercive variational formulation. This leads to a stable numerical method. We show some validation results on a dielectric sphere.
