BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION (about 40 minutes to 1 hour)

RER + BUS

First get to Massy-Palaiseau station. You can get there using

  • RER B (recommanded): from Paris towards Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse, a 30 min ride from Châtelet to Massy-Palaiseau (3€25)
  • RER C (low frequency and 4€65)
  • TGV (if you are coming to Paris by train, you may have the possibility to stop directly at Massy-Palaiseau TGV station).

Then take the 91-06 or 91-10 bus line from Massy-Palaiseau station to Polytechnique Lozère (ride less than 10 minutes, 1€70).

RER + Walk (300 steps stairway !)

First get to RER B Lozère station : from Paris take the RER B towards Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse (3€25).

From Lozère station, you can walk to the Ecole: 15 minutes walk (including a stairway of about 300 steps). Difficult if carrying heavy baggage and may be slippery in inclement weather. Map from Lozère Station.

BY CAR (about 30 minutes)

  • Arriving from Porte d'Orléans or Porte d'Italie: by highway A6
  • Arriving from Pont de Sèvres: via the N118

Coming from Charles De Gaulle or Orly airports

From Charles De Gaulle airport (about 1h30)

Charles De Gaulle airport is located in the north of Paris (and the Ecole Polytechnique is South). So you have to cross Paris from the very north to the very south. Best option: RER B direction Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse (see RER+BUS or RER+Walk above). You can always take a taxi from Charles de Gaulle, but this option should be avoided if possible. It will cost you between (80 and 120 €) and, if at night it will takes you less than one hour to get to the Ecole Polytechnique, you could be stucked in traffic jam for hours.

From Orly Airport (20 to 45minutes)

By Taxi (about 20 minutes)

Orly Airport is just 19km from Palaiseau. A taxi will be the fastest way to get to the Ecole (but it will cost you between 29 and 43 €.

By BUS, line 91-10 (about 45 minutes)

A more economic option is to take the bus line 91-10. It will take you to Polytechnique Lozère in 45 minutes (1€70).

By OrlyVal+RER B+(BUS or Walk) about 40 minutes

Finally, you can take the OrlyVal (some kind of little train) to Antony. Then form Antony you can reach either Massy-Palaiseau or Lozère (see RER+BUS or RER+Walk above). Note that, with this last option, you will have to take up to three different types of public transports. In consequences, you will have to buy two or three tickets (one for the OrlyVal, one for the RER B, and one for the optional BUS for about 12€).
