Thomas Wick

I am a Professor for Scientific Computing at the Institute of Applied Mathematics (IfAM) of the Leibniz Universität Hannover in Germany. Furthermore, I teach from time to time at the Centre de Mathématiques Appliquées (CMAP) at Ecole Polytechnique in Palaiseau/Paris in France.
My research interests are design, implementation and analysis of numerical methods and algorithms for computational fluid dynamics, solids, multiphysics and crack propagation problems in elasticity and poroelasticity. I am also interested in error estimation and adaptive methods such as local mesh adaptivity with a particular emphasis on goal-oriented techniques. Finally, I work occasionally on numerical algorithms for gradient-based optimization for coupled problems.
