Dispersion Formula for Rayleigh Waves

The construction of the high-frequency asymptotic solution describing the Rayleigh wave for the inhomogeneous anisotropic medium with curved free boundary is given. Although we have not yet succeeded in splitting the geometric quantities and physical quantities in this formula, the formula may be useful for identifying the texture and residual stress inside the medium by measuring the dispersion of the speed of Rayleigh wave. The method for deriving the formula is semiclassical analysis and Stroh's formula This is the joint work with Chi-Sing Man and KazumiTanuma.
