Location and Accommodation

The fifth European Summer School in Financial Mathematics will take place on the campus of Le Mans University, in the premises of the Institut du Risque et de l'Assurance

Lunches during the summer school will be provided. One welcome reception will take place in the evening on the first day and the summer school dinner on Wednesday.

Accommodation for successful applicants will be provided in a hotel close to campus. Travel expenses from European countries will be covered.


Directions

The city of Le Mans can easily be reached from Paris in less than one hour with a high speed train TGV and in a couple of hours with local trains. Timetables for trains can be found on the website of french railways (SNCF).
The trains to Le Mans depart from the station Paris Montparnasse; some trains also make the direct trip from Charles de Gaulle international airport (station: Aeroport CDG2 TGV). The city center is within walking distance from the main railway station.

Directions to the hotel (junior participants)

PhD students and young researchers will be hosted at Hotel Première Classe Le Mans Centre, 40, rue du Vert Galant, 72000 Le Mans.
The hotel can be reached on foot from Le Mans main train station (roughly 10-15 min walk), otherwise by tram: take the tram line T1, direction Le Mans Université, and get off at the stop Eperon-Cité Plantagenêt (see map below).


Directions to the hotel (speakers and guest participants)

Speaker and other gues participants will be hosted at Hotel Levasseur, 5 Boulevard René Levasseur, 72000 Le Mans.
The hotel can be reached on foot from Le Mans main train station or by tram: take the tram line T1, direction Le Mans Université, and get off at Republique. The hotel is 100m from the tram stop.

  • From Hotel Première Classe: walk to the tram stop Eperon-Cité Plantagenêt (see map below) and take tram T1, direction Le Mans Université (one tram every 12 mins), to the stop Campus-Ribay. The journey lasts about 10'. The tram stops a few minutes walk from the building of Institut du Risque et de l'Assurance (see campus map link above).



  • From Hotel Levasseur : the same journey, just hop on the tram at the stop Republique (one stop before Eperon-Cité Plantagenêt).

Information about the area

The hotels for participants and lectures are situated within walking distance from the old city center ("Le vieux Mans"), which benefits from a large number of restaurants, cafés and bars.
