I list below some topics I find interesting related to my mathematical interests (research, teaching, general mathematical results.).
- I cannot state enough how the "gradient check" procedure comparing analytical gradients to finite elements helped me find and correct various bugs. After implementing the gradient/Hessian formulas, always check them. Using particular directions you can test all the components and easily find even the slightest errors (a factor missing, a sign, etc). A description of the method along with some Python codes can be found here.
- The first optimization course I attended. Organized by Dorin Bucur and Bogdan Sasu at Timisoara, Romania. The speakers were Giuseppe Buttazzo and Edouard Oudet.
- The Modica-Mortola Theorem
- Chakerian's proof of Blaschke-Lebesgue Theorem.
